Tips for The Oven

Best indian anywhere. Not to be overly dramatic but I'm a bit of an indian food snob. I have eaten in restaurants all over the states...both coasts...all major cities and at least 30 different times all over the UK, not to mention other major cities in Europe. The Oven is not only the best restaurant in Lincoln but could indeed be the best Indian restaurant in the world. Order anything its all FANTASTIC. And when they ask you if you want the soup or the salad...order the soup...if you want the salad, you don't deserve to be eating there. Oh, and not that its important with this quality of food but you can walk out of there with a starter, entree and drinks for under $30. Don't even read the reviews for the other Indian restaurant in Lincoln...they're all just trying to be The Oven.

One of the top restaurants in Lincoln. This is definitely the best Indian restaurant in Lincoln, and an argument could be made that it's the best restaurant in Lincoln, period. Their dishes are generally in the $15 range, and the portions are very generous. I love their Lamb dishes (I'd rather eat a lamb here than lamb at Billy's, even if the price was comparable, though in fact, the Oven will cost you half as much. By the way, apparently citysearch thinks ra*k, *=c is a bad word), the Tandori is excellent, as are the various naan bread offerings. The bar is ummatched in Lincoln. Louis XIII? check. Macallan aged 25 years? check. Fat tire on tap? check. They even have Chimay Blue, though I'd never pay $30 for it. I don't have the expertise to comment on the wine menu, though I'd imagine its quality matches the other menus. The service is excellent, and the quiet, relatively dimly lit interior also gets high marks. Highly Recommended.
